Chapter 9 Narrative
On All Commercial Jobs - Any time there are modifications, additions or deletions to an existing fire protection system, it is required to have a Chapter 9 Narrative before a permit will be issued. This is the responsibility of the architect or design professional (903.1.3). The narrative describes the sequence of events on how the system will work, the basis (or methodology) of the design, and testing criteria for final system acceptance (903.1.1).
