Overview
Created in June 1990 by the Amherst Select Board, the Town/Commercial Relations Committee serves as a liaison between Town government and the business community, providing a forum for discussing matters of shared interest or concern. The TCRC advises the Select Board, Town Meeting and other Town boards/committees on matters relating to commerce and economic activity in Amherst, economic policy and related issues, including but not limited to Town regulations and by-laws, planning and zoning, public safety, traffic and parking. The TCRC regularly updates the strategic Downtown Action Plan.
