Preliminary Plan Hearing June 29, 2010 @ 7:30 p.m. in the Town Room at Town Hall

Project Scope & Background Information

This project was developed to reconstruct Sandhill Road from Pine Street to State Street. Due to environmental issues, the project is being split into 2 sections. The first section is from Pine Street to Puffers Circle. Work in this section will include the following:
  1. Movement of the roadway into the existing right of way and off private property
  2. Installation of a new on street drainage system
  3. Sidewalk upgrades
  4. Upgrade of roadway from 18 feet wide to a 20 foot wide roadway. This width is 2 feet narrower than current Town standards
  5. Upgrade of the Sandhill and Pine Street intersections to include moving the existing bus stop and changing the crosswalks
The project has been through several committees and boards under the old project review process. Due to the fact that Sandhill Road is a scenic roadway, a joint hearing of the Planning Board and the Tree Warden have been held. The project is now at the Preliminary plan approval stage now.
