Cherry Hill maintains a trail network of over 1.25 miles that loops throughout virtually the entire course, with access at the north end of the course to trails that connect to town Conservation land beyond the solar farm that is currently being constructed. Grooming takes place in the morning when conditions allow.
The ARHS Nordic Ski team (who just placed 11th in the state meet!) uses Cherry Hill as a practice facility when conditions allow.
A large group of local residents that go by the name Amherst Nordic Skiing also utilize the trails.
This activity is often seen at Cherry Hill in the winter. We encourage those who snowshoe to stay off the groomed ski trails as much as possible.
WinterFest Amherst is the Pioneer Valley's largest winter carnival! Each year, Amherst Leisure Services presents the community with a week-long schedule of events for the whole family. Festivities are kicked off with the Luminaria on the Town Commons, a public display of over 1,500 flickering luminarias. The week ends with the signature Grand Finale event hosted at Cherry Hill. Feature attractions of the Grand Finale include the Best-in-Snow Dog Show, Cardboard Classic, and Atkins Farm Cider Donut Eating Contest.
