Chocolate: From Bean to Bar to Palate
Saturday, January 26, 2019
Join Dédé Wilson for an educational - and delicious - tour of cacao, from bean to bar, then learn how to truly appreciate and assess chocolate with all of your senses with a tasting of different varieties and sources from around the globe. Learn why two 60% chocolates taste different from one another, how to read a label to assess chocolate quality, why one chocolate that is good for eating might not be for baking and what makes a chocolate “best” is its class.
Seating is limited, so pre-registration is required by January 19th. Please call 413-259-3096.
Recommended for ages 14 & up. There is a solid 45 minutes of Power Point education; this is not about eating candy, and in our experience, it has been best appreciated by adults. It is akin to a wine tasting class, in that it demands concentration and the ability to articulate aroma, taste, and flavor.
For the best experience, eat only lightly before attending. Class runs 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
This event is brought to you by the Friends of the Jones Libraries.
