[ARCHIVED] Jones Library Volunteer Tutor Training

Jones Library Volunteer Tutor Training starts September 11th

The Jones Library English as a Second Language Center is looking for volunteers to teach English to newcomers in the Amherst area. Tutors meet twice weekly with an adult immigrant at a time and location that is convenient for both. Training, handbook, ongoing assistance, and meeting space are provided.

Tutors should have strong English communication skills and an interest in cross-cultural learning. A nine-month (or two-semester) commitment is required.

A ten-hour training workshop will be offered over four Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. starting on Sept. 11th . Registration forms and info are available at http://www.joneslibrary.org/esl/volunteer/volunteers.html or 413 259-3093.
