UPDATED PRESS RELEASE
WILDFLOWER DRIVE CLOSED
Between Indian Pipe Ln and Alyssum Ln
Friday, May 19th to Friday May 26th 2017
The existing water main that was scheduled for relocation as part of this project caused a delay in the progress of the sewer extension. As a result, work on the sewer extension was temporarily paused so the water main could be relocated, in order to make room for the sanitary sewer. Work on the water main relocation will continue through Tuesday, May 23rd, when there will be a scheduled water service shut down for Indian Pipe Ln and Alyssum Ln. (Water service shutdown notices will be posted and hand delivered to all affected residences.)
We anticipate the water main and sewer main work on Wildflower Dr, between Indian Pipe and Alyssum, to continue through Thursday or Friday of next week. The current road closure will remain in effect through Thursday May 25th and additional notices will be posted if progress changes.
Wildflower Dr will be closed to through traffic from 7am to 5pm.
Residents will only have access to their homes from their respective sides, either the Belchertown Rd or the Station Rd end of Wildflower Dr. Please choose the appropriate route based on the location of the construction and leave extra time to allow for possible delays.
All residents will have access to their driveways during construction; however, at certain times there may be delays. Please allow extra time and have patience as there may be instances when construction equipment may temporarily block driveway and roadway access.
If any resident has sprinkler heads, invisible pet fences, etc., inside the Town Right of way please clearly mark the location of them. The contractor is not responsible for damage to these systems but will try to avoid them if they are marked.
For questions or additional information concerning the project please contact the Amherst Department of Public Works at 413-259-3050 or at publicworks@amherstma.gov
