Snow and/or ice removal from sidewalks is the responsibility of the property owner and must be removed within 24 hours of the end of the precipitation which caused the accumulation. This policy is to assure safe and convenient access on sidewalks to all travelers, including those with disabilities and/or mobility impairments, including people who use wheelchairs.
The Town will send a sidewalk plow around on the major sidewalks (see listing on website) to assist residents with this task. Once the Town machine has passed, the resident is responsible for maintaining the sidewalk in a passable condition. Trash and recycling containers and parked cars should also be removed from the sidewalk area.
