The Town of Amherst seeks part-time Call Firefighters to perform firefighting activities, emergency medical aid, and hazardous material duties. Call Firefighters have no scheduled shifts, but are on-call for emergency responses. Requires HS diploma/GED; knowledge of driver safety, be 18 years old, have/obtain a MA driver’s license, lift 100 lbs., be a non-smoker, and live in Amherst or in a neighboring town. Applicants must be available most Tuesday evenings throughout the year for weekly training. Salary $12.00 to start; $13.63 after initial training; up to $19.37.
