[ARCHIVED] Construction Season: Stormwater Reminder

water running in to storm drain catch basin

Developers & Contractors!

As the construction season gets going, the Town wants to remind you to, “Put Dirt In Its Place”. Sediment and pollutants that run off construction sites end up in our stormwater system and pollute our wetlands, streams, rivers, and ponds. Developers and contractors are responsible for controlling site erosion during and after construction. It’s important to use and maintain a combination of erosion control measures including storm drain inlet protection and construction entrance stability that work to control sediment on your site. Federal, state, and local regulations may require your construction site to have erosion control.

Visit the Town’s stormwater webpage at and click on the Developers & Contractors tab for more information on the laws governing stormwater pollution protection and ideas for managing runoff from your project.
