On Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. at Kendrick Park, the PDA, the Kendrick Park Committee and the Town Manager will sponsor a meeting to provide an update on the Kendrick Park planning process and to solicit comments and suggestions. The purpose of this meeting is to explain to the interested business community the status of the planning process for improvements to Kendrick Park. It is the hope of the PDA and the Kendrick Park Committee to receive input from the business community as to how the Town and the Kendrick Park Committee might proceed with both the form and function of Kendrick Park. Peggy Roberts, Chair of the Kendrick Park Committee said, “I’m very excited and looking forward to hearing about proposals for improvements to Kendrick Park from the business community.” Jerry Jolly, President of the PDA, said, “Kendrick Park is a very important component for improving downtown Amherst. The PDA is very excited about this project and looks forward to working collaboratively with the Town on improvements to Kendrick Park.” Laurence Shaffer stated, “I very much look forward to hearing from our friends in the business community as to their advice on how to proceed with Kendrick Park.”
Peggy Roberts, Chair of the Kendrick Park Committee, also stated that on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., a public session will be held at Kendrick Park to solicit input from the neighborhood. Further, a general community meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Room at Town Hall.
