[ARCHIVED] Town Seeks First Director of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

The Town of Amherst is seeking a dynamic leader to develop, implement, and monitor a strategic plan that will advance a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture throughout the Town. The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is a newly developed department, created to ensure alignment between Town activities and the Town’s commitment to eradicating the effects of systemic racism in Town government and Town-affiliated organizations. The Director will review and make recommendations to revise policies, procedures, bylaws, values, goals, and missions to foster an unbiased and inclusive environment that is free of discrimination, harassment, and negative stereotyping toward any person or group.

We are passionate about building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable environment in the Town of Amherst, and are looking for an innovative forward-thinking leader to help us in our efforts to promote equity throughout the Town!

Can you supervise and lead a team? Do you have experience implementing equity, diversity, and inclusion? THE DEI DIRECTOR WILL:

• Build and sustain an unbiased environment that is free of discrimination, harassment, and negative stereotyping

• Review policies, procedures, bylaws, values, goals

• Be responsible for the development of DEI programs

• Serve as the Human Rights Director

What We Offer:
