The Town of Amherst invites you to take the below linked survey to help make Amherst a more Age & Dementia Friendly Community. This survey will help us to collect input from residents on what is needed to create a safe, healthy and inclusive environment for older adults, people living with dementia and the people who care for them.
Your participation will contribute to an understanding of what is working and where there are opportunities for improvement and will help to prioritize actions needed to improve the livability of Amherst for people of all ages.
Everyone who completes this survey by March 31, 2022 will be eligible for a drawing for five $50 Gift Cards generously contributed by the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce. (Surveys will still be accepted after March 31)
Please see the below links to access the online survey offered in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Hard copies of the survey are available for pick-up and drop-off at:
- Bangs Community Center, South Entrance, Outside Room 101, 70 Boltwood Walk, Amherst
- Jones Library, Circulation Desk, 43 Amity Street, Amherst
The results of this survey will be used to develop a Community Assessment and Action Plan that will serve as a road map for making Amherst an Age & Dementia Friendly Community.
The Town is working with staff from Pioneer Valley Planning Commission who are assisting with the project. Additionally, the Town has a working group to provide oversight of this work. The working group assists with community engagement strategies and development of a community assessment and action plan. The working group will meet monthly throughout 2022. Their next meeting is on February 28th at 10:30 AM, more details here.
