Town Council Accepting Applications for Non-Voting Resident Members of the Finance Committee

The Town Council has an impending vacancy for a non-voting resident member of the Finance Committee and is currently seeking applications.

The Finance Committee is a standing committee of the Town Council which advises the Council on all financial matters.   It consists of five councilors as voting members and three non-voting residents.  Selection of resident members is based on relevant experience, skills, and policy knowledge, with an emphasis on municipal and public finance.

If you are interested in volunteering to serve, please fill out a Community Activity Form at: https://www.amherstma.gov/FormCenter/Community-Activity-Form-14/Community-Activity-Form-Town-Council-App-165.

Those who have submitted a CAF expressing interest in serving on the Finance Committee within the past two years will be contacted regarding your prior submission to ascertain your continued interest.  If you are still interested you will be asked to submit a new CAF.

Town Council appointment of non-voting resident members of the Finance Committee is in accordance with Charter Section 2.6(e). This notice fulfills the Town bulletin board requirement Charter Section 9.12(e).
