Want to shrink your tax bill?

The Town of Amherst Assessor would like to remind Amherst Residents about the many tax exemptions that are available.  

What is a tax exemption?  Exemptions - They come in many different ways/forms at every taxable level (Municipal and Federal) but if you qualify for an exemption, your tax bill could be reduced or entirely eliminate your obligation to pay taxes.

Please explore the links below and reach out to the Assessor by phone (413-259-3024) or email for help with a tax exemption application. 
Are you a Veteran or legally blind? Are you 65 years old or older or have accessory dwelling unit that is for your parents or in-laws? If you answered yes to any of these questions you may be eligible for an exemption on your real estate taxes.
