The Town of Amherst, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from General Contractors for Infrastructure Development at Olympia Oaks for the Town of Amherst, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by Doucet & Associates, Inc.
Project Description: 1,700 linear feet of 18 foot wide, one-way access drive, 75 parking spaces, and associated utilities for a future residential development on Olympia Drive. Utilities include storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water, natural gas, electric, telephone, and cable.
The estimated cost is $900,000.00
Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.30 § 39M & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 §§26 to 27H inclusive and federal Davis Bacon wage rates. The higher of the two (state and federal) rates shall apply.
General Bids will be received until 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 20, 2011 and publicly opened on that date and time.
Bids should be delivered to Town of Amherst Accounting Department, 1st floor Town Hall, 4 Boltwood Avenue, Amherst, MA 01002 and received no later than the date & time specified above. Sealed bids must be clearly marked “Infrastructure Development at Olympia Oaks”.
General bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (including all alternates), and made payable to The Town of Amherst.
Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available after June 22, 2011 at 2 pm for pick-up from Monday through Friday between 9 am and 4 pm at Doucet & Associates, Inc., 136 West Street, Suite 103, Northampton, MA 01060. A $25 nonrefundable delivery fee per set will be charged for each set of contract documents requested by U.S. Mail, the only acceptable courier.
There is a refundable plan deposit of $ 75 per set (maximum of 2 sets) payable to Doucet & Associates, Inc. Deposits must be a certified or cashier's check. This deposit will be refunded for up to two sets for general bidders and for one set for sub-bidders upon return of the sets in good condition within thirty days of receipt of general bids. Otherwise the deposit shall be the property of Doucet & Associates, Inc. Additional sets may be purchased for a non-refundable $75 per set.
The Project Site will be available for inspection at a pre-bid conference on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 3 pm. The site visit is not mandatory, but bidders are encouraged to attend and will be deemed to know all things ascertainable through such a visit.
The time for completion set forth in the Contract is 90 consecutive calendar days.
The Contract Documents may be viewed, but not removed at the office of Doucet & Associates, Inc.
