Amherst Council on Aging (ACOA) will be sponsoring this year's Claus for a Cause program. The ACOA will be collecting donations of warm clothes, puzzle books, tea, cocoa, candies, lotion, lip balm, etc... that will be packed into gift bags and delivered to older adults.
Cardboard collection boxes available the first week of November. Donations would be collected until December 8th.
For those interested, we have two volunteer opportunities for this program.
-Bag packing: bags will be packed on Tuesday, December 12th. Interested individuals are invited to drop in during the Senior Center's open hours (9:00am-3:00pm) and join our merry crew.
-Delivery drivers: we are recruiting volunteers to delivery bags to seniors' houses the week of December 18th. It's a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful connection this season. Interested parties should contact Julia MacFadzen (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Town Offices will be closed on Friday, November 10th in observance of Veterans' Day.
Be Present, Be Kind, Be Curious brings traditional meditative wisdom into contemporary life. It showcases the Tergar Meditation Community's new premier program – Anytime Anywhere Meditation. This program makes meditation practice both more accessible and more effective, whatever your spiritual or philosophical orientation.
Anytime Anywhere Meditation dismantles ideas that meditation is a rigid pursuit with lofty, unattainable goals. You will learn that compassion is only a heartbeat away, wisdom is accessible, and awareness is always with you. This workshop is the perfect opportunity to start a meditative journey of self-discovery.
